Global dance sensation Roberto Bolle is set to premiere the production, alongside the company’s corps de ballet.

A WORLD premiere and the return of two choreographic works with an unusual source of inspiration. Patrick de Bana signs his first creation for the La Scala’s Ballet Company and its étoiles, navigating the parallels of mythology, culture, perfumes and icons of a Spain filtered through his personal experience.

For this, he will revive the essence of Carmen, passionate heroine, clothed in freedom. On the touching mystery of the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary, a duet one of Angelin Preljocaj’s most emblematic female works focuses on the relationship between spirit and body, inner and outer space, on the upheaval of the Angel’s apparition in the intimate universe of Mary.

Richard Bolle rehearsing with Patrick de Bana for Carmen

From the story of the Amduat and the descent into the underworld of the sun god who, purified, rises to the surface to give life to a new day Philippe Kratz takes his cue for Solitude Sometimes. With the artists he immersed himself in Egyptian mythology for a work abstract in its essence but populated with symbolic figures, catharsis, rebirth, the cycle of life and the resilience of the individual amidst the electronic sounds of Thom Yorke and Radiohead’s electronic sounds.

AN ACTOR absorbs the personalities of those they are trying to embody.

Yet, at the heart, the audience has a knowledge of the performer behind the role, the personality that informs the pretence. For the Prada Spring-Summer 2025 men’s campaign, the actor Harris Dickinson eschews role-play and appears as himself – the truth of an actor, playing themselves.

Prada SS25

Photographed by Steven Meisel, different elements of Dickinson’s character inform the reinvention of his image, from dynamic to contemplative, energetic to nonchalant. Equally, the clothes he wears transform – archetypical and classic menswear pieces shift with his presence, apparently altered by his action and authority, affected by his own individuality.

Rather than shifting between personages or personae – embodying characters, conveying a script – here we observe different perspectives on one man, the nuances of his character, and his own truth. He is the protagonist in his own story.

ITALIAN perfumery Massimiliano Torti has its eyes set on London with its new debut bricks-and-mortar store in Soho, and its the first store outside of Italy.

The perfume house, which is known for its approach that that blends ancient tradition with modern innovation, has crafted a collection of perfumes, oils, and body care products that challenge conventional norms of scent for the past 30 years.

Nina Simona Briazu for Massimiliano Torti

Born in Florence in 1975, Torti’s early exposure to the world of fragrances in the ’80s and ’90s ignited his passion for perfumery, honing in on single-note essences and focussing on the authenticity of raw essences. As such, his scents incorporate a high concentrations of essential oils (30- 40%), exemplifying his dedication to purity, and crafted by hand in his Umbrian workshop, in limited quantities to ensure excellence.

Raw collection by Massimiliano Torti

On his approach Torti says,”we believe that true luxury lies in exclusivity and individuality. By remaining offline and avoiding mainstream marketing, we ensure that our fragrances are for those who truly appreciate the art of perfumery. Our goal is to teach individuals how to perfume themselves, to create their own rituals, and to discover scents that align with their essence.”

Bianca collection by Massimiliano Torti

Channeling the brand philosophy that sees fragrance as a personal and transformative, the key to their scents is the art of layering, a technique that allows for personalised luxury. Torti introduced the concept of “olfactory stratification,” an approach that encourages the layering of different scents across various parts of the body that results in a rich, multidimensional fragrance experience. This method allows wearers to build a signature scent, and with over 300 fragrances, there’s a whole host of options to be worn.

Amber collection by Massimiliano Torti

Building on years of research, artistry, and innovation, the house has added to its family with Nina Simona Briazu, a talented “nose” and personal protégé who plays a key role in expanding Torti’s brand and philosophy, and she’s marks the next chapter for the brand with the opening the London boutique.

Here, she will offer personalised fragrance experiences, helping to craft bespoke fragrances. On the offering Nina says, “I want to create ‘perfume awareness’—teaching people to own their scent identities. Fragrance is an intimate experience that deserves to be understood and appreciated.”

THE RITZ London, synonymous with style and glamour is home to The Rivoli Bar, and this January in the spirit of all things wellness, it’s launching a new cocktail menu entitled, ‘Biodynamic Forces Through The Alchemy of Planets and Plants.’

Biodynamic Forces Through The Alchemy of Planets and Plants

Expect 14 new cocktails that draw inspiration from biodynamic farming that offers guests not only innovative combinations, but also an immersive, educational experience. First established by Rudolf Steiner in the 1920s, biodynamic farming focuses on the connection between soil, plants, animals, and the cosmos.

Maria Thun then created the Biodynamic Calendar which mapped out the influence of lunar and planetary cycles on specific parts of the plant—root, leaf, flower, or fruit—and their ideal times for harvesting.

Biodynamic Forces Through The Alchemy of Planets and Plants

In true form, each cocktail crafted by Michele Saladino, Head Mixologist and his team, is named after a planet on this Biodynamic Calendar, offering a playful menu that’s interactive and adds a touch of fun to the luxury cocktail experience.

The interactive element adds a level of engagement to the cocktail, allowing guests to select their cocktail by exploring constellation diagrams and astrology signs on each page. It also features a flavour dial that links each cocktail to the Biodynamic Calendar, offering a unique way to discover various ingredients.

And of course, where possible the team use biodynamic, organic and seasonal ingredients, working closely with The Biodynamic Association Demeter to build a relationship with farmers, producers and suppliers across to source produce that meet the standards.

Biodynamic Forces Through The Alchemy of Planets and Plants

Personified by a fictional character, The Astro Botanist, this new menu includes original takes on ten classic cocktails, from the Jupiter, an elegant floral spritz, that’s poured at the table from a small fountain and topped up with biodynamic champagne, to The Moon, a twist on the Dirty Martini, as well as Mars, a new take on a Negroni. There are also four alcohol free cocktails, named Elixir Naturalis which include the Mercurius, Triton, Ariel and Phobos.

Biodynamic Forces Through The Alchemy of Planets and Plants

The ritzy experience is elevated further thanks to an exclusive collection of bespoke glassware that reflect each concept, and for this, the 5-star hotel worked with 3D Vault to design the pieces, crafted from ceramic, recycled glass, and PLA (a 100% natural material derived from renewable resources). Through 3D printing, 3D Vault creates precise models with zero material waste and high-quality durable products.

BASED in La Chaux- de-Fonds, Switzerland, TAG Heuer has been known for its avant-garde watchmaking spirit and its commitment to innovation since it was founded by Edouard Heuer in 1860.

Now headed up by CEO Antoine Pin, the brand’s core collection consists of three iconic families designed by Jack Heuer, cue the TAG Heuer Carrera, Monaco, and Autavia, and it’s rounded out with the contemporary TAG Heuer Link, Aquaracer, Formula 1, and Connected lines.

TAG Heuer for 2025 F1

Back in the driving seat and perfectly exuding its motto, “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” TAG has announced that it is once again the F1’s official timekeeper, and right in time to celebrate 75th anniversary of Formula 1 this year.

With a rich history in the sport that spans over seven decades, 2025 marks the revival of their partnership that embodies luxury, precision, innovation, performance and speed. After all, TAG Heuer was the first luxury brand to have its logo appear on a Formula 1 car in 1969, the first to sponsor a team in 1971 and, with 239 wins and 15 World Drivers’ Championships to its name, it’s one of the most successful brands in history to be associated with Formula 1.

Steve McQueen wearing TAG Heuer

“In a sport defined by mental resilience, physical strength, strategy, innovation, and performance it is only natural for TAG Heuer to be at the very heart of Formula 1 as Official Timekeeper” says Antoine Pin, CEO of TAG Heuer.

He continues, “With decades of history in F1 connecting us to the most successful drivers and teams of all time, we are honoured and privileged to be the name connected to the very thing that defines the winner: time. As Formula 1 and their exceptional team continue to build on the amazing work that has been done to create one of the greatest properties in sport, we are excited to be part of the journey and create new stories to enrich TAG Heuer.”

Ayrton Senna wearing TAG Heuer

Formula 1 has become one of the most culturally significant and successful sporting championships in the world, with 750 million fans worldwide and a fanbase that’s becoming younger and more diverse—just head over to TikTok to see its popularity amongst a younger audience.

The 2024 season saw 1.5 billion viewers tune into the action-packed season, where the wheel-to-wheel racing went down to the wire between McLaren and Ferrari for the Constructors’ Championship in Abu Dhabi.

On the next stage of the F1 x TAG Heuer partnership, Stefano Domenicali, President and CEO, Formula 1 says the timekeeping brand is a natural fit, “With their focus on innovation, accuracy and excellence, they are a natural partner, and I am excited to see how our intertwining heritage can tell new stories for the future as we celebrate our 75th year.”

As part of the collaboration, TAG Heuer will have a significant presence both on and off the track, through trackside branding, Fan Zone and Paddock Club activations and new product ranges that encapsulate the drama of Formula 1. Roll on the Australian Grand Prix in March.

TWO DECADES after Louis Vuitton joined forces with contemporary artist Takashi Murakami for what was to be seen as a cultural-defining collaboration, the two forces have returned to release an updated collection of re-editions.

Bringing back over 200 creations as part of this capsule, the pieces balance French craftsmanship with Japanese innovation that is bound by their endless stream of boundless imagination.

Louis Vuitton x Murakami

First sparked by the then-creative director Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton x Murakami is identified by its kaleidoscope of colour and recreation of the House’s most recognisable accessories. Bringing motifs like the famous Monogram pattern and adding the artist’s famed characters to the pattern, the pair balance each other out.

Louis Vuitton x Murakami

Kicking off this anniversary year, Chapter One of the collaboration renders everything from the City Bags to Speedys, belts to skateboards and keyrings – and even taking over the packaging of fragrances and adding a customised travel case to the collection.

Brought to life with a special campaign starring brand ambassador and actor Zendaya, it seems 2025 is already Louis Vuitton’s year.

SINCE being founded in 1989, Explorations Company has garnered an impressive reputation for its bespoke safaris, adventures, and expeditions to some of the most exquisite locations. Now, the luxury company has just welcomed Haldu Tola – a beautiful private villa in Pench, India – to its sparkling portfolio.

Haldu Tola

Nestled away in lush jungle flora, Haldu Tola is the only one of its kind to be located in Pench Tiger Reserve. Named after the long-standing Haldu tree, Haldu Tola boasts four bedrooms, a dining room, a living room, a lounge, and a heated pool. Carved by local artisans from the Gond tribal community, the solar-powered villa intertwines vibrant cultural elements with elegant furnishings and details.

Haldu Tola

Additionally, guests can spend some free time hitting the well-equipped gym or enjoying in-villa yoga sessions and art workshops. However, the ultimate villa addition is Haldu Tola’s customised Africa-style safari jeep. For those hoping to learn more about the surrounding wildlife, an in-villa naturalist will accompany guests on excursions and provide thorough insights into the abundant landscape.

Alongside safari experiences, Pench Tiger Reserve has recently been recognised as Asia’s eighth and newest dark sky place – meaning it’s an ideal location for stargazing and astronomy workshops.

Haldu Tola

Available to rent fully serviced, the villa comes with its own senior camp manager, housekeeping and chef. Tapping into traditional Indian culinary traditions, the catering team utilises locally sourced ingredients – including fruits and vegetables grown in the villa’s vegetable garden – to provide the freshest breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

by Sophie Richardson

Experience Haldu Tola with Explorations Company from £19,500 based on a five-night stay for 5-8 guests. For more information, please visit www.explorationscompany.com.

DURING Christmas season, The Savoy transforms into a scene straight from a West End set – golden and snow-dusted tree branches sprawl across the grand lobby and towering Christmas trees shine on every corner – a true testament to statement “more is more”. Amid this festive magic, the corridor of golden lights guides me to Gallery, The Savoy’s newly opened dining destination.

With a stained-glass dome, warm golden lighting, and burnt-orange sofas, the space has a buzzing and inviting aura, reminiscent of the couples dancing in this very room in the 1900s. While slightly more relaxed than The Savoy’s other dining restaurants, Gallery maintains the hotel’s signature luxury, blending effortlessly glamour with approachability.

Gallery Interior

Open for all-day dining and afternoon tea, Gallery aims to cater to every kind of guest – from tourists seeking a quick bite to diners indulging in a three-course meal. True to the ethos of a quintessential hotel restaurant, its menu is diverse but inclusive, offering something for everyone. Think traditional British staples, inventive seafood dishes, and, most importantly, exceptional steaks.

Divided into three sections – light grazing bites, shareable dishes, and hearty plates – the menu encourages exploration and sharing. Fortunately, portion sizes are generous, easing the fears of those disheartened by the rise of the worryingly small plates.

Highlights include Irish oysters, beef carpaccio with parmesan crisps, artichokes, and rocket for a bold flavour punch, grilled Cornish tuna tataki with yuzu soy on top of creamy avocado; and duck en croûte with grape jelly and fig relish, a beautiful harmony of savoury and sweet notes complimented by the buttery and flakey pastry.

Starters

For the main event, options range from a classic Club Sandwich or heart-warming chicken tikka pie, but the undisputed showstopper is the Tomahawk steak – served on the bone, accompanied by confit mushrooms and generous serving of peppercorn sauce. The steak’s juicy, tender meat delivers a burst of rich, savoury flavour, perfectly complemented by sides of crispy truffle fries and broccoli coated in a delicate layer of almond butter. It’s a dish that for me epitomises indulgence and comfort.

Chicken tikka pie

One look at the Gallery’s dessert menu showers me with an aura of nostalgia. Whether it’s an apple crumble, a mille-feuille layered with vanilla cream and salted caramel, or the old-school classic ice cream sundae, the guests are in for a sweet treat.

The sundae comes with customisable toppings like chocolate, crushed cookies, frozen berries, and even crystallised yuzu, and is a playful way to end the meal whilst indulging in an avalanche of childhood memories.

For those extending their evening with a drink, the Gallery’s cocktail menu does not disappoint. It features a mix of timeless classics, such as the Martini, alongside inventive twists: the pickled cranberry Cosmo and the sorrel Daiquiri, which incorporates sorrel cordial and lime maraschino. With many spirits from British distilleries such as Hepple Gin and Somerset Brandy the commitment to local sourcing is clear and guests can sample the best of British labels.

Bar at Gallery

Alongside Gallery, The Savoy has also introduced a scone shop Scoff, where scones are elevated to an art form – almost too beautiful to eat. Filled with inventive flavours ranging from tiramisu to exotic fruit punch, the creativity is endless. To keep things fresh, the staff teases limited-edition seasonal recipes, ensuring there’s always something new and exciting to look out for.

Scoff scones

In every detail, Gallery captures the essence of The Savoy’s charm while bringing a new style of dining and its unique identity to the hotel. It’s grand but welcoming, luxurious yet unpretentious. With attentive staff happy to share a laugh as well as advice on the best wine pairing; Gallery is set to become a new among The Savoy’s classics.

K-POP STAR Lim Yoona can add Brand Ambassador for Italian luxury fashion House Valentino to her already extensive and acclaimed list of titles.

The actor, singer, philanthropist, and public figure, Kim Yoona, rose to fame as a member of K-pop group GIRLS’ GENERATION whose debut hit single Into The New World released in 2007, followed by their 2008 self-titled debut album, helped propel the group into international stardom. Since, Yoona has graced the screens of both films and TV dramas, including King The Land (2023) and The Big Mouth (2022).

Lim Yoona for Valentino

Founded in the Italian capital of Rome in 1960, Maison Valentino is now helmed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele, who stepped into the coveted role in March earlier this year. Michele debuted his first collection, titled Pavillon des Folies, for the House in September at Porte de Châtillon in Paris, which brought the bohemian chic of floral motifs and polka dots to the Italian heritage brand.

Lim Yoona comments “having attended the Pavillon des Folies show, I was profoundly captivated by the elegance and beauty embedded in every aspect of Valentino’s designs, as well as the distinctive fusion of modern sensibilities” and is set to appear across Maison Valentino’s exciting calendar of upcoming events.

MILAN, ITALY – “Ugo Mulas, The Process of Photography” is an extensive and detailed retrospective showcasing the work of one of Milan’s most revered artists, born in 1928 and passed in 1973, currently at Palazzo Reale from until February 2025. A reinterpretation of the work of the great photographer, to whom the city is paying an extraordinary homage.

Ugo Mulas | Autoritratto con Nini A Melina e Valentina – 1972

The Municipality of Milan promoted the exhibition, which was produced by Palazzo Reale and Marsilio Arte in collaboration with the Ugo Mulas Archive, with the support of Deloitte and the patronage of the Deloitte Foundation. Denis Curti, Director of Le Stanze della Fotografia in Venice, and Alberto Salvadori, Director of the Ugo Mulas Archive, curated it.

300 images – many of which were never displayed before now – vintage photos, documents, books and films, look back over Ugo Mulas’ entire compendium: from theatre to fashion, from portraits of international artists, protagonists of American Pop Art, to those of intellectuals, architects and personalities from the world of culture and entertainment – including Dino Buzzati, Giorgio de Chirico, Marcel Duchamp, Jasper Johns, Roy Lichtenstein, Arthur Miller, Eugenio Montale, Louise Nevelson, Salvatore Quasimodo, Giorgio Strehler and Andy Warhol – from the various locations and cities to nudes and jewellery.

Ugo Mulas | Fausto Melotti Sette savi – 1970

Ugo Mulas | Scenografia per Woyzeck – 1969

The subtitle of the exhibition, “The Process of Photography” draws its inspiration from one of the most important series created by Mulas, the Verifiche (1968-1972), with which the retrospective opens: fourteen works that came about as a result of the artist’s rigorous conceptual reflection on the history of photography and its constituent elements.

For the first time, in the rooms of Palazzo Reale, also on display together with the Verifiche are the studies that preceded them, forming genuine evidence that still today provides us with the keys to interpret and enter the aesthetic and conceptual universe of Ugo Mulas. A sort of mapping of photography that has a homage to Niépce, Verifica 1, to whom the exhibition will devote particular attention, as its point of departure.

Ugo Mulas | Tessuti Taroni – 1970

Also on display for the first time are many portraits of the most important protagonists of the design, architecture and art of the second half of the 20th century who are associated with the city of Milan, including Gae Aulenti, Giulio Castelli, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Vittorio Gregotti, Bruno Munari, Gio Ponti and Ettore Sottsass, along with several images of sculptor Fausto Melotti, a dear friend of Ugo Mulas, to whom an entire section is devoted.

Along the exhibition route, structured into 14 themed chapters (Verifiche, Duchamp, Fontana, Calder, Melotti, Theatre, Milan, Places, Portraits, Fashion, Nudes and Jewellery, New York/Pop, Interior/Exterior, Vitality of the Negative), the profile emerges of a total photographer, who tackled many different subjects over the course of his brief, intense experience, with the awareness that photography is not mere documentation, but testimony and critical interpretation of reality.

Ugo Mulas | Edie Sedgwick e Andy Warhol New York – 1964

“With this retrospective, Milan pays homage not only to a great photographer, but also to a man who knew how to capture and convey the soul of this continually evolving city,” says Tommaso Sacchi, Councillor Responsible for Culture.

“Ugo Mulas, in fact, will permanently join the exhibition in the new itinerary of the Museum of the 20th Century, which we will inaugurate in the next few days, precisely on account of his interpretation of the artistic life of the city in what were fundamental years for Milan: those of the Bar Jamaica, of Piero Manzoni and Luciano Bianciardi, of Lucio Fontana and the Funerals of Nouveau Realisme.

But not only that: other museums in the city will also host a selection of photographs by Mulas, offering an itinerary that will include the key locations of his life and works, thus continuing the itinerary outside of the rooms of Palazzo Reale.”

Ugo Mulas | Bar Jamaica Milano – 1953-1954

The visual documentation by Ugo Mulas represents a precious contribution to the understanding of the cultural and artistic history of that period, telling of the economic and social fervour of Milan in the second half of the 20th century.

Evidenced in his first photos from 1953 of the district of Brera and the famous Bar Jamaica, a meeting place for extraordinary personalities such as Piero Manzoni or Luciano Bianciardi, and the photos of the suburbs, the Central Station, dormitories and everyday moments.

Ugo Mulas | Sala di Michelangelo Pistoletto Vitalità del negativo nell’arte italiana – 1970

The exhibition is part of a project to present the work of the great photographer to the public, the first stage of which took place in Venice, at Le Stanze della Fotografia, in 2023. The programme continues in October 2024 in Milan, where the exhibition is presented with an itinerary and an approach that are entirely unprecedented and specially designed for the city, thanks to the in-depth research work into the author’s production that has enabled photos never exhibited before to be unearthed.
