GREAT Scotland Yard has opened to the public for the first time in 200 years, after undergoing a hotel transformation through The Unbound Collection by the Hyatt Group. Located in Westminster, the political centre of London, the hotel is the first from this collection to open in the UK, boasting 152 guest rooms and includes 15 suites.

The space also features a wellness centre, along with an exclusive member’s club, as part of the full-scale restoration and renovation of the landmark building.
Great Scotland Yard’s storied past includes a period as the London residence of Scottish Kings, as well as housing prominent civil servants. The approach to the renovation was to hold onto the building’s heritage, and provide a twist on the conventional Edwardian style, through bursts of colour.
The comfortable Sibín bar
The dining options include the hotel’s flagship restaurant, aptly named The Yard, which will pay homage to traditional British cuisine, through utilising the best ingredients and old culinary traditions.
The dining and drinking elements will be overseen by chef Robin Gill, and also encompasses two bars – The 40 Elephants and Sibín – as well as a modern tearoom, The Parlour, to ensure that there are gastronomical options to serve every palette.

“We look forward to welcoming independent minded travellers looking for a story-worthy experience,” says Great Scotland Yard manager Sholto Smith.
