Phillipson‘s captivating Sound Space. Complementing the meditative gong sounds, this cinematic

Petra Jean Phillipson, is a multifaceted artist, singer-songwriter and shamanic sound healer. As a
renowned musician, she has an impressive background: composer for the Oscar-nominated film Barrage with performances at Glastonbury and the Jools Holland show. She has collaborated with an array of talented artists, including Michael Orminston, Sixto Rodriguez, Mad Professor, and David Holmes.

Petra is now a shamanic sound healer, serving as a tutor for the College of Sound Healing. Her specialties lie in soul retrieval, soul contact dissolving, and extraction training.

Shangri-La Group offers a helping hand to aid earthquake-stricken communities in Turkey

FOLLOWING the devastating earthquake in Turkey, a leading luxury hotel group Shangri-La and the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency in Turkey (AFAD), has provided 300 furnished container homes to displaced residents of Hatay, one of the hardest hit cities.

_{Opening ceremony of Hatay Friendship City held at Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul on 4 July 2023}

The container City ‘Dostluk Kenti’ meaning “Friendship City” located near Mustafa Kemal University will house approximately 1200 people. In order to combat further damage and withhold potentially dangerous weather conditions each temporary home is insulated and a safe place to be when harsh weather conditions arise.

The temporary homes are fitted with plumbing, electricity, bathroom equipment and living furnishings of an everyday home.

_{A resident of Hatay Friendship City expressed his gratitude to Liu Yuhua, Minister Counsellor of Economy and Commerce of the Chinese Embassy in Ankara and George Tan, Chief Human Resources Officer of Shangri-La Group.}

Employees worldwide from Shangri-La have donated in order to create Friendship City and were matched by the Group. Together with Senior Shangri-La, AFAD officials, and representatives from the Chinese and Turkish governments officially opened the city in a humble ceremony on site.

STICKS’n’Sushi Shoreditch offers an expertly crafted menu that perfectly blends Japanese Cuisine with Scandinavian influences. From the moment I stepped into the modern and sophisticated restaurant, I knew I was in for a treat.

Located in the creative hub of Shoreditch and taking inspiration from the local area, the artistic taste quickly unravelled as I found various novels and magazines alongside each table, available for guests to pick up and browse.

The menu at Sticks’n’Sushi is a delightful fusion of traditional sushi and inventive grilled skewers. We browsed the menu and decided on Edamame and Broccoli to start. I opted for their signature sushi plater, and the presentation alone was a feast for the eyes.

Each piece of sushi boasted fresh and top-quality ingredients such as tuna and avocado while their grilled skewers, on the other hand were equally impressive. The juicy and tender meats, fish, and scallops paired with a delectable assortment of sauces, were a highlight of the meal.

Our meal concluded with pocket sized generous four desserts. The desserts were made up of Matcha, Raspberry white chocolate, Chocolate Pearls, and Crème Brulee. To finish we sipped our Gin cocktails, which came with flowers.

Sticks’n’Sushi has a partnership with East London Institution, Hackney Church Brew which has allowed for the creation of Yuzu Lemon Wheat Beer (Hefweizen).
